Case Study 1: BridgeStreet Worldwide - Easy to do Business with
A VP of Human Resources for a Fortune 1000 Corporation was looking for a way to save costs related to housing, increase associate satisfaction levels and easily produce metrics which would illustrate these achievements to her superiors and colleagues without requiring more internal resources.
  • Initially BridgeStreet Worldwide produced detailed comparisons that showed the savings her company would experience by using BridgeStreet.
  • Thereafter, BridgeStreet Worldwide provided a monthly cost savings report in an electronic format that the VP of HR could share internally.
  • BridgeStreet Worldwide utilized its Electronic Survey Program (ESP) to automatically distribute guest satisfaction surveys, compile the results and produce detailed monthly results with graphs and charts that visually conveyed all statistics in an easy to understand format.
  • BridgeStreet Worldwide tracked other pertinent information for each transferee in its state of the art property management system which made it easy to produce metrics showing specific cost savings to each of the company's business units.

Case Study 2: Client Challenges / BridgeStreet Worldwide Solutions
A Fortune 100 technology corporation with its US headquarters was faced with the challenge of coordinating various services for their international transferees coming into the United States on assignments.

Challenges were:

  • All transferees were foreign and usually spoke little English.
  • Transferees arrived at all hours of the night and day and needed directions and transportation to their temporary accommodations.
  • Transferees needed long term transportation needs met while on their work assignment.
  • Most transferees had not been to the US before and did not know how to use apartment appliances, thermostats, etc.
  • Transferees often required special cooking equipment / utensils to prepare and eat their particular cuisine.
  • Transferees needed a resource to locate specialty grocery stores, places of worship, etc.
  • Not having stayed in corporate housing before, transferees were anxious and did not know what to expect in their apartment.
BridgeStreet Worldwide provided the following solution:
  • A list of all multilingual BridgeStreet Worldwide Associates was compiled to include the languages spoken, home numbers and mobile numbers so that they could be called in the event of an emergency. Also, a 24 hour 7 day a week translation source was identified and put on standby that BridgeStreet could be accessing them at any time night or day for translation assistance.
  • Several nationwide limousine services were identified, priced and contracted to provide airport pickups 24/7.
  • Two primary car rental services were identified, priced and contracted to deliver cars to the transferees' apartments.
  • BridgeStreet Worldwide committed to having a staff member present 24/7 to greet the transferee and provide an apartment orientation.
  • BridgeStreet Worldwide committed to providing rice cookers, woks, chopsticks, etc. as required at no additional cost to the Client.
  • BridgeStreet Worldwide launched a BridgeLink Extranet site with area information, shopping information, BMV locations, etc. that the transferee could access via the web prior to arriving in the US and throughout their stay. Transferees were also given access to a 24/7 concierge service to answer any questions the transferee may have in advance of or at any time during their stay.
  • The BridgeLink extranet site was designed to also include photos of what corporate apartments actually look like in various locations, along with lists of all of the amenities and features included in the apartments. This helped to assuage concerns and set a proper level of expectation for the transferees, their spouses and families.
As a result offering these solutions, BridgeStreet Worldwide was awarded this international contract. After successfully implementing all of these programs and exceeding the expectations of the Client, BridgeStreet was later awarded all domestic relocation business for this major Fortune 500 company as well.
